It’s hot.
As there is a heat advisory in effect and the house was gross and sticky, we finally gave in and put the air conditioners into their windows today. We held of as long as we could, because even with the solar panels, it’s expensive to run them, but alas, we couldn’t put it off any longer. On the plus side, the house is cooling down to a much more reasonable temperature and the cats have stopped flopping dramatically all over the floors.
Going to be helping a friend at a farmer’s market this Sunday, which should be interesting. It’s going to be hot, but there’s a canopy for shade, and I’ll have a cooler for cold drinks, so it should be okay.
Still working on writing the epistolary letters for Auntie Yaga’s Home For Wayward Monsters on Ko-fi, but am getting increasingly discouraged by the complete lack of views. Wondering at which point I give up and shut it down. I don’t need to write the stories out, since they live in my head, but dammit, I love my little monster home and I want to share it. It’s just…some sort of interaction would be nice. After years of trying to get some kind of traction on any of my work and getting nowhere, the lack of anything to show for it is getting to me.
*shakes self*
Eh. We’ll see. I’ll give it a few more weeks before I through in the towel.
In the meantime, I’ve got groceries to do and little sporeling friends to crochet. Who knows? Maybe I’ll go in an entirely different direction and find myself selling little crocheted mushrooms at the farmer’s markets or something?
